Transforming Bus Travel sets out our proposals for modernising bus travel in the West Midlands as well as our aspirations for improving the quality of bus travel by putting the needs of passengers first.

Fundamental to Transforming Bus Travel is the introduction of a modern and easier to understand bus network of enhanced and more frequent services that connect, people to the places they want to go, and at the times they want to get there.

Transforming Bus Travel also seeks to establish high quality standards for an improved bus product comprising clean and modern vehicles, complemented by secure and comfortable waiting environments.

Transforming Bus Travel builds on the existing improvements that have been delivered through Network West Midlands and a range of partnership initiatives that have been delivered in recent years in close collaboration with District Authorities and bus operators.

It is also informed by current Government thinking on the future direction of bus policy and the Audit Commission review "Increasing Bus Use in the West Midlands".
