Walking or wheeling is a great form of exercise - there are plenty of places to explore in the West Midlands.

Find a walking route

If you want to go on a longer walk or run, it’s best to plan your route so you can avoid busy roads. You can use websites or apps like OS maps, Komoot or PlotARoute to find the best routes for you.

The West Midlands are home to some great walks along the canal network. Visit the Canal and River Trust to find out more about walks near you.

New WM walking trail

The West Midlands Walking Trail will be a new walking trail that celebrates areas of beauty and heritage in the region as well as increasing access to green space for residents. The trail will be made up of an outer loop of the West Midlands and a series of loops in the region's urban areas.
